Stuffy's II In Kelso, Washington: A Bit of Nostalgic Grace

As we were driving back from Bend today, we were listening to a Jimmy Buffett CD.  I have always enjoyed the song Pencil Thin Mustache, and the phrase that Jimmy sings about, "nostalgic grace".  My friend Gloria has been encouraging me to make the post on Stuffy's II that I promised last month, so I decided to blend everything all together, and this is how it turned out.  The video is funny and so is the song.  But it seems to be mostly about a guy having a difficult time getting laid, so if that offends you, then you might want to skip it.  I always thought it was about Boston Blacky and a two-tone Ricky Ricardo jacket.

In July, we went to our grandson Johnny's baseball playoff game in Kelso, Washington.  Taking advantage of the break between games, our son-in-law John led us to the local's favorite, Stuffy's II.  The decor was filled with nostalgic pieces that had been collected over a long period of time.  Located in the center of Downtown Kelso, it is a great place to visit.  And, if you are like me, to take pictures.

The portions are humongous.

From floor to ceiling and on the many windowsills, there were neat collectibles surrounding the tables.  I put the photos into collages so that they wouldn't take up so much room, though I wish that I could show them all as extra large pictures.  Some are great shadow shots, so I may be showing those again later.  You can click on these collages to make them bigger.

I put this in two of the collages, but it got cut off.  I just thought it was really pretty, so here is the full photo.  I think that I'd like to do my bathroom in these colors someday though:

The cinnamon rolls at Stuffy's II are made from scratch, and are reported to be the largest in the world!  At least, that is what their website says.  They did look yummy.  This is a full sized pie safe and there was only room for a few of them.

Look at these hashbrowns and gravy.  They took up the whole plate.  Johnny ordered a milkshake, and this was only the glass ... more was in the serving container.

Silly guy!  He ordered the kids fish and chips.  Yumm!  I guess that I concentrated more on the decor than on the food.  If you get the chance to go there, please do.  You won't be disappointed.   If you would like to know more, please check out the website for Stuffy's II by "CLICKING HERE".

Forget the knick-knacks! MORE FOOD, please!! LOL! Great photos, especially of the family, but I DO wish you had more of the food. :(
Best,
Gloria
P.S. I tried watching the video, but twice I got: "An error occurred, please try again later." So I will come back and try again another time. Oh well...

Oh my gosh....would I ever LOVE going there!! Just look at all the goodies on display. And the food looks mighty scrumptious too. Love the collages and especially the little troll doll as I have a small collection of them myself.

Fantastic pictures...love all the family and their smiles. It's contagious.

And I enjoyed your company...do hope you'll find time for a return visit sometime. In fact, today my post is: SOMETHING STUPID

Wow! I love all the neat memorabilia at Stuffy's II, plus the food looks out of this world.

That cinnamon role would feed family of four , I think. :) Or just me after a bad day. LOL

Hi Gloria, lol, I'll keep that in mind for you NEXT time. Glad you enjoyed the post though. I hope that you get to see the video; it has been working okay for me so far.

Hi Anni, they are a good looking and pleasant bunch, that is for sure. Thank you for your comment about the Drake Park post, I worked pretty hard on that one and was happy with it too. I'll be by to visit again very soon.

Hey, Melissa, thanks for stopping by and saying hi. Those rolls do look delicious ... I was thinking that they could feed 6 or 8 (it is hard to tell by the picture)!

Hi Patti, I've been a JB fan since I saw him in concert with Jerry Jeff Walker when I was 17 ... been to lots of concerts since and have raised my kids on him. What a storyteller he is. Thanks so much for coming over to say hi!
