Other stuff that I have been thinking about ...

Tea Thoughts:
I have been into photographing all these Tablescapes and Tea Cups, and am having a blast with it.  I love making things look pretty, and am learning a lot about lighting.

But, there is something that I need to confess.  I am really not a tea drinker, and I don't understand the fuss about tea parties.  I am a coffee drinker.  I figure that I can put coffee into these pretty little cups just as easily, so I am still legit, in a way.

Back in high school, there was a tea house downtown, and my boyfriend was really into tea.  We went there a lot.  It was in this old brick building, on the second floor, on 8th and Willamette in Eugene.  We used to look out the window and watch the ladies of the afternoon work the streets.  I'm not kidding. What awful entertainment to go along with tea.  Anyway, I did learn some stuff about tea back then.  My boyfriend was adamant that cream and sugar were not allowed in the tea.  I don't know where he came up with that rule, but that was the rule.  When I do drink tea today, I still don't add anything to it.

Back to the present.  I have begun visiting a whole lot of tea time blogs, through the linky parties.  I think that I am beginning to understand the draw of tea a bit more.  It isn't only about actually drinking tea. It is also about taking time out of your busy day, or busy week, to sit down, relax and pamper yourself.  Kind of like a bubble bath.   Except, you can drink tea and visit with your friends, and a bubble bath is a more solitary type of deal.

Misc. Thoughts:
I would like to welcome my newest follower, Gloria from The Little Red House With The White Porch.  I really like her stories, and her blog.  Gloria is having a contest too, and it is open until November 11th.  You can find a link to her blog on my sidebar too.

I was reading Kathy A. Johnson's post on Catching Happiness, and it is about reading the classics.  This is something that I was thinking about seriously a couple of years ago.  What are the "must reads", anyway?  If you like to read, you might check out Kathy's post.  There are links to lists on there too.  It is interesting, and I was glad to see that I had read a lot of books on the lists.  Some of them I have never heard of before though.

I also learned this week, that if you are mailing a photo in an official post office 9.5" x 11" photo envelope, it is YOUR fault if the mail delivery person decides to fold it in half in order to squeeze it into a tiny post office box.  Because you did not hand write "DO NOT BEND".  So the person you sent the photo too gets a crinkled picture.  Sorry, Shelly.

Well, that's all for now folks.  I've been on here for 2 1/2 hours and need to get some other things accomplished.

Have a wonderful day, and celebrate the positive!

Kathy, I'm not much of a tea drinker, either, but I still love tea cups and tea pots!! We'll just drink our coffee out of them! :)

Hi Gloria,

You are very welcome! Thank you for signing my Guest Book. I had to move it down to the bottom of the page because it cut into the posts with the new design.

Hi Becky,

Well, I am glad to know that I am not the only one! I never even used them before taking their pictures. I suppose the next time I have company we could give it a whirl, and when that happens I'll think of you!
