This and That Monday:

Our Grand Pets:

Reuben the cat is not afraid of dogs.
Boomer loves everybody, no matter the species.
Baby Grover fits right in to the family.

Today was so pretty!  Here are some pictures from around our front and backyards:

Sonny sure enjoyed the nice weather.

Last week, I began my research project for my book.   On Saturday, I had so much info, that I had to figure out a place to put it.  So ... (and I do think this is a great idea) I set up 13 new blogs (though I think I will need 20) to store my info as I prepare for the book.  For now, these blogs are not online.  As I get the info entered and all put together, I will publish and share them with you, as they have to do with historical Oregon and should be very interesting.

Hey, did you guys know that to set up a Blogger blog now that you need  a cell phone to get a secret code first?  Yep.  Blogger/Google emails a secret code to your phone, so that you can enter it into the the right spot and go forward with your blog.  Dang!  I used Cary's cell phone number.  I figure that they already have so much of my info already.  It is odd that I even protest, since I put so much personal info on my blog anyway, and on the new blogs I will writing about people from 100 years ago.  I really do appreciate the great, FREE service that they provide though, so I'll do what I have to do.  Thanks, Blogger.  Thanks, Google.

Oh, guess what?  Tomorrow, the Newberry Eagle (our local, once a month community newspaper) is going to come over to our house and interview me about my blogs.  YIKES!!!   [Update:  I can relax about this until next week ... the reporter just called and needed to reschedule.]

Only a few more days, and three of my favorite family members will be jetting off to Guatemala to volunteer their time for a medical mission trip to help the folks living in extreme poverty.  Those three people are my Mom, my daughter Kristin and my nephew Ethan.  I would very much appreciate your prayers for their safety.  Thanks!

I am very excited to announce that we had two more babies born into my extended family this week:  Baby Janelle and Baby Willow.  Welcome sweet little girls.  And, my cousin Fernando married his love Imari.  Congratulations to everybody!

Unfortunately, Facebook has finally gotten smart, and I cannot copy and paste other people's photos anymore.  Dang.  Well, over all, that is probably the best for everybody.

Quick Turnarounds:

Great Uncle John and his wife Mary

This has also been a week of quick turnarounds and connecting the dots at lightening speed.  First, I found the research work of Curtis Irish and Steve Williamson from the Mohawk Valley, which helped me get excited about my book again.  Then, on Friday, I posted the Hedrick pioneer story.  Last night I received an email from a long lost relative, Bill Hedrick, who had met my Uncle John Hedrick years ago.  Bill is Ercel Hedrick's grandson, and he sent me lots of valuable family information.  Thank you, Bill!

Well, have a great evening, and I'll let you know how my interview goes tomorrow.  Take care and God bless,

Kathy
