Patty and her daughter Shannon stopped by on their way home from Shannon's school "Central Oregon" field trip yesterday. They had gone to the High Desert Museum, the Sunriver Observatory and the Lava Ice Caves. And they stayed over night with 100 others on the wrestling mats at Bend High School with some man who snored all night long. He brought a tent, but that didn't block the sound much, according to my two reporters.
What a blessing that Patty is to me. We met 25 years ago, and have been best friends ever since. She even lived with me for a little while when she was waiting for the house around the corner to open up when Nigel was a baby. Patty is an artist, designer, and creator. She vends her wares at shows and in her friend Mezzaline's shop. Patty made me feel really good yesterday when she offered to display and sell my stuff at her booth when she vends. Now I really need to get busy!
Last year, Cary and I went to visit Patty, Greg and Shannon and I took pictures of her beautiful home and gardens. That girl is the best decorator and gardener! Now I am really glad that I did, because they just sold their house and moved. Here is a link to those photos Patty's Old House . Remember, you can always click to enlarge them.
This is the quilt that Patty made for Cary and me as a wedding present. It is now hanging in my office/creative room:
Becky thought it looked too clean ... this is what it looks like now:

How wonderful to have that kind of friendship! What a pretty quilt, too! And Kathy, if that's your "creative area", you are so neat and tidy! Good for you!! :)
Beautiful! The quilt AND the friendship.
Thanks, you two! Becky, that was the day I clean it ... I'll post a current picture in a minute, it sure doesn't look like that now!
