Staying Busy:

I got a lot done yesterday.  Maybe because I used a list.  Lisa at Writing in the Buff http://www.writinginthebuff.net/ did a post about lists the other day, and I thought, well maybe I should do that too.  I hadn't for awhile.  I took a piece of copy paper, folded it in half and had sections for things I needed to do, things I needed to buy, people I needed to call and projects that I needed to work on.  It got me going, and gave me more energy as I checked things off.  I ended up doing things that were not even on it!

Remember that little garage sale shelf that I bought for $3.00?
I put it in the corner and put our fancy stereo system on it.

The boom box used to sit here.
Now the big plant does, and it will get more light.

Now the little plant and pictures do.

I bought new clothes hampers, and brought these garbage cans (the old clothes hampers) out to use for recyling.  I wanted to show you how I have expanded the kitchen island by building up around it.  This is the most functional kitchen I have ever had.  I really enjoy it.

Then, I dehydrated peppers, mushrooms and carrots.  That is EASY to do.  I did need to slice and gut the peppers, but the carrots and mushrooms just came out of the bags.

Before

Before, again.

I put the peppers on the bottom, because they hold so much more moisture.

Also, I hoped that by layering things this way that the
carrots and mushrooms wouldn't taste like peppers.

Next came the carrots.

Then the mushrooms.

This is what they looked like after 8 hours of being in the dehydrator.

I packaged them up into little Ziplock bags and put them into the freezer.

The end.

Wow!! Good for you, Kathy!! I used to do really well with lists, too, but not so much lately. I like the way you separated your chores, though!! That makes a lot of sense, and I can see how it would help you streamline everything! Congrats on getting a lot accomplished! I'm still working on doing that....!
