Shadow Shot Sunday #163: Saturday Morning at the Fair

Every 4th of July weekend, La Pine has it's Frontier Days.  This includes a fair, parade, rodeo, lawn mower races, live entertainment and fireworks.  Yesterday morning Cary and I went to the fair early for something to eat.  We ended up choosing Thai food, and that was a dang good breakfast.  We didn't stay long or walk around too much, but I managed a few shadow shots while we were there:

We ran into our friend Derek, and it was nice to see him again.  Cary will get his new cast on Tuesday.   We hope it will be a shorter version.  Everybody kept asking him if he got into a fight; Cary would say yeah, I refused to sign a speeding ticket and you should see the cop!  Actually, the doctor had to go in a move a nerve over, because his had was numb.

On the way home, we stopped at Bi-Mart and got some stuff for the yard.  Cary mowed the lawn and worked on his projects, and I pulled some weeds.  It got to be really hot, so I quit and read my book.  We later took a drive on the golf cart, and all-in-all had a wonderful day.  It felt like our first real day of summer, even if we had to wait until July for it.

The night before, we had a visitor to our yard.  I took these through the glass window and used the zoom, so they aren't crystal clear, but are still neat.  I kept thinking of the movie Field of Dreams, where they keep saying, build it and they will come.  You just never know what you are going to get though, or who "they" will be!

SHADOW, BE TRUE

My shadow has come out to play.
Oh, shadow, please don’t run away!
Stay here by my side,
Pretend you’re my bride—
Be true to me now and alway!

Love your visitors! Couldn't you get them to "mow" the lawn for you, too?
