The American League Loses

Well this kind of sucks.  The American League lost the MLB All- Star game.  The score was 3-1.

And why, you may ask?  Because Johnny Damon, my secret boyfriend, did not get voted in as an All Star player this year.  He would have helped to win the game.  Why didn't he get voted in?  Maybe because he is no longer a Red Sox, nor is he a Yankee.  He is a Detroit Lion with an Elvis Presley sort of mohawk haircut.  Fans did not vote him in this year, for whatever reasons. Probably because there is a lot of new talent out there and it is time for others to have their day in the spotlight.  All the other years that Johnny Damon was playing in the All Stars, the American League won.  I just missed seeing him there, that is all.

Here are some pictures of Johnny as he has evolved over the 7 years that I have been watching him.  Johnny is just plain cute, and just plain nice.  It is fun to watch him play, because he smiles and has fun.

Thanks to Jimmy Kemp's FB photos on some of these.

I think your team would have won, Johnny, if you were there.   However, if it is any consolation, you are definitely a trendsetter.  There are lots of baseball guys getting mohawks now.  Because of you.  Rock on, man!  I heart you very much, Johnny Damon!

I confess, baseball used to be my fave sport, but I got mad way back when they went on strike right before the World Series. I never forgave them!

I didn't become a fan until after that was all over with, but I know that it left a bad taste for baseball for many folks.

I just really look forward to baseball season and am sad to see it go. Then I am stuck with football (not so bad) and basketball (I hate the sound of the squeaky shoes on tv!)
